We Did It! Officially the Best Thing to Do in Staffordshire! Nelson’s Distillery & School Awarded Experience of the Year at the Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism & Good Food Awards 2024
On Thursday, 14th March 2024, we celebrated a milestone we’ll never forget, winning Experience of the Year at the 10th annual Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism & Good Food Awards 2024.
The award ceremony was hosted by Rebecca Wood, the BBC Midlands Today presenter and a proud alumna of Staffordshire University, which sponsored our award category. It took place at the National Memorial Arboretum, an amazing venue that also received two awards for its dedication to accessible, inclusive, and sustainable tourism.
The Experience of the Year category saw fierce competition, with four outstanding finalists vying for the title. We emerged victorious, celebrated for our unique Gin, Vodka & Rum School experience.
Neil Harrison, our founder, couldn’t hide his excitement: “We are absolutely thrilled to have received the Experience of the Year award. This recognition is a testament to the passion and hard work of our entire team. Our goal has always been to provide a unique experience for our guests, allowing them to explore the art of distillation and create something truly personal. To be acknowledged for this effort is incredibly rewarding. Sharing the evening with the fantastic team from Dovecliff Hall Hotel, who received accolades in several categories, including Small Hotel of the Year and Independent Restaurant of the Year, underscored the collaborative spirit and excellence within Staffordshire’s hospitality and tourism sector.
A significant recognition of our achievement, some Gold winners from the evening will advance to represent Staffordshire at the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2024, showcasing the best of what our county has to offer on a national stage.
